Looking to appeal to all markets Samsung has given its flagship Android handset a makeover as a pink Samsung Galaxy S II is unveiled

If you love the high-end spec and sleek users interface of the Samsung Galaxy S II but are put off by its lifeless black or white form factors you might be in luck as Samsung officially outs a pink rendition of its Android 2.3 Gingerbread powerhouse.

Exclusive to the company’s native South Korea at launch the pink Samsung Galaxy S II follows on from the standard black version of the flagship device officially unveiled at Mobile World Congress back in February. A white Samsung Galaxy S II model was released in the UK in September.

Huawei MediaPad, Vision get priced in sterling, will arrive in UK within months

We're still awaiting further details on the MediaPad's stateside arrival, but Huawei has already spilled the beans for those on the other side of the Atlantic. At an event in London this week, the Chinese manufacturer confirmed that its seven-inch, Honeycomb-plated slate will arrive in the UK by early 2012, with prices for the WiFi only version starting at £275 (around $437). The company also took the opportunity to announce the arrival of its Vision smartphone, which will invade Britain sometime before Christmas. Huawei says it'll cost around £25 (about $40), once provider subsidies are accounted for, though specific operators won't be announced until early next year. Rest assured, we'll keep you up to date.

The phone is bound for the U.S. and parts of Asia and Europe, starting in November.

Now, Samsung spent most of the day tripping over its own leaks with regards to the looks and specs of the phone, but that didn't dampen our admiration any. It's a phone that any carrier would be proud to offer, from the HD screen and 1.2GHz dual-core processor to the 1080p HD video capture and playback, to the barometer and NFC chip embedded within.

We'll know more when we get our hands on the device in due time, both in Hong Kong with CNET Asia and here in our San Francisco headquarters. For now, here's what we think.

Screen

It starts with a huge 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display (1280 x 720 pixel resolution.) Samsung makes some of the best screens on the market, with colors that pop, and a way of reproducing light that uses no power on black. That's better for battery life and also tends to improve contrast.

Although there is HD resolution, the screen size verges on the enormous, so there's a chance that pixel density may not be the absolute highest around, nor the absolute sharpest or clearest, but do expect some impressive screen quality.

Samsung-announces-thinnest-watch-phone

The Samsung has announced the launch of its first touch-based dual-band GSM/GPRS 900/1800MHz thinnest watch phoneSamsung S9110.

This 11.98mm thick luxurious device include 1.76-inch TFT anti-scratch touch display, Bluetooth 2.1, an MP3 player, speakerphone, voice memos, voice recognition and support for Outlook email. Other details on the device include the fact that it has been crafted from stainless steel, it comes with a scratch-resistant glass that is meant to protect its display, and it features a leather strap. The looks of the S9110 are rather stylish, and it should appeal to a lot of users out there, although the slimmer body came at the expense of 3G functionality. The new Samsung S9110 is expected to become available for purchase in France starting this month, while its price tag has been set at 450 Euros ($640).
